5 Top Tips to Kick Start Your Healthy Diet

5 Top Tips To Kick Start your Healthy Diet

When you want a kick start to a healthy diet, there are just a few rules to follow which will make a huge difference to the way you feel, and boost your energy levels. After 7 days you can choose if you want to make any of these suggestions a habit. I am very anti rules, I just like guidelines, and feel good indicators-If it feels good, do it! Beyond a set amount of time of having to do something the monkey mind kicks in and starts playing games with us. We all want freedom and we don’t really like being told what to do, so if we can manage 7 days just to establish some new habits you can then make your choice for the future.

It’s not what we eat, it’s what we don’t eat!

We all know what we should do, we just need a little reminding.

Cut out the following for 7 days

Sugar

The white and brown stuff. By cutting out sugar it automatically cuts out everything that goes with it, ie, white flour and fat. It levels your blood sugar, drops the weight, and as sugar has no nutritional value, you aren’t missing out on anything.

Alcohol

You immediately cut out several hundred calories, so you will lose weight.

Your mind will be clearer, no more morning fog! You will be more productive, and have more energy.

Your mind will be clearer and you will see life through a clearer lense.

Caffeine

This can be a difficult for many people to break. I suggest you do this over a weekend, or at a time when you don’t need to perform or be productive, as it can give you headaches.

Wheat

With the mass production of food over the years, and the introduction of GMO -genetically modified organisms, especially in products containing wheat, the quality of the food we eat nowadays seems to have a different affect on the body than it did years ago. There are so many people with food intolerances and allergies, IBS, bloating, heartburn etc often connected with wheat. Cut it out for a week and see how you feel.

INCLUDE – Moving!

Our bodies were designed to move, not to sit, stand and lie down. Roll out a yoga mat, lie down and bust a move, or dust off your trainers and go for a walk or a run. Buy some new swim goggles and do a few lengths in your local pool. Re connect a passion you may have..maybe it’s badminton, golf. Join a walking group, anything!!

What Can Happen When you Detox

The first few days of change are the hardest. You are literally realigning the cells of your body and creating new neural pathways in your brain. The brain may go into rebel mode as things are being shaken up and placed in a different order. We have a comfort zone, both physically and mentally, which, after a while, when it has served its purpose in our being, becomes our uncomfortable zone. Things don’t feel right, we feel slightly out of touch with ourselves, we are misaligned. This is when we crave change, even if we don’t know what that change is. If we stay with the changes, and endure that ‘space between’, the almost no man’s land, and have the courage to ride the wave, a whole new set of circumstances, feelings and ways of being become present. We have created a new self. We can see it in the world around us, with people we know, who may be stuck in the past, not in the present, and afraid of the future. we are not the same person we were last year or 5 years ago or 10 years ago, and the rate at we which we change is up to us. Changing the cells of the body, through the detoxing and making healthy choices, changes the physicality of the body. Along with these changes you may initially experience headaches, fatigue, discharge in the form of mucus, mood swings, skin rashes etc. On the positive side, you may not experience any of these and within a few days feel energised, light, clear headed, upbeat, happy and peaceful inside. Please be patient, there is no set timescale and ultimate benefits I garantee you will be for your utmost benefit.
